I took off my skates, and gritting my teeth started walking home. Mother, watching me, thought I was walking with one skate on and one off-that is how much I was favoring my right leg. The pain was so severe I really do not know how I did it. I got to the steps of my home and could go no further.
There were five concrete steps to the landing, and seven wooden steps lead up to the porch. There was absolutely no way I was going to make that. On top of that I was a big girl, a bit on the hefty side, and my mother would not be able to help me into the house. I sat there with tears running down my face and silently cried, "Dear God, please bring my daddy home." It was at that moment my mother looked down the street and saw my father had turned the corner.
It is written in Isaiah 65:24 "And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer, and while they are yet speaking, I will hear." That is exactly how I felt. My Heavenly Father knew I would have need of my earthly father. Something within told him not to go to the lodge meeting that evening, he would be needed at home.

Reflections in Light is not only inspiring, but can be used as a tool for those who are seeking answers to life's experiences. Within these pages are examples of personal experiences as well as talks given by Reverand Dator, which range from the spiritual connotation of the Three Little Pigs to a metaphysical interpretaton of The Four Horsemen found in the book of Revelations.
There are times when we become discouraged and entertain the idea that God has deserted us. The author endeavors to prove this is an impossibility. We can not be separated from God because He is Everywhere Present, and as our Creator lives within each of us. We can survive, eliminate, and grow through the bad times.
About the Author
Joanne, in her quest for spiritual knowledge was led to Panama City, Florida, where she founded Christ Unity Church in 1980. In her career, she has served ministries in Florida, Tennessee, Indiana, and Georgia. Her messages reflect the belief that through study and meditation one discovers the 'power to create', which gives us a deeper understanding of life's joys and tragedies.
Joanne, although retired now, continues to speak, teach, and share the insights garnered over the years. She takes every opportunity to spend time with her three children and five grandchildren.
