Determined to make a difference in the lives of young people and the community which has compelled Ms. Reaves to write strong prose and poetry about rape, street violence in the hope to reveal how senseless and useless violence is. Her mission is to empower children. She wishes to show that their lives are valued, purposeful and meaningful for something far greater than anything that they would ever know and understand should they not choose to travel down a pathway of destruction. She presently is working to unveil in an exhibit, opening sometime in 2008, as tangible proof of the outcome of such negative behavior.

She also penned, The Cry of the Woman, which addresses the soaring cases of HIV/AIDS among African American women and ignite an outcry to parties involved who nonchalantly spread the disease, specifically bi-sexual men.
Hidden Reality is Ms. Reaves first book of fiction. It examines one black woman’s dilemma of lovers - one black and the other white - with a surprising twist in the ending.
Ms. Reaves is the proud mother of three adult children; twin sons, Deshon and Lejon, and one special daughter, Whitney.
