Thank you for taking time to read this book. I hope and pray that it will not only meet but far exceed your expectations. I wasn’t sure about doing an introduction simply because people tend to go straight to the first chapter or glance at the table of contents page and then start reading the first chapter. However, I feel confident that since the Lord Himself has inspired me to write this book, whoever reads this introduction—whether it’s a hundred readers or just one—that is who God intended it for.
Mother’s Milk is very personal to me because it’s representative of real mothers and speaks of my own journey as both a mother and a daughter. It took many emotional hardships, and even more repeat lessons, for God to be able to reveal Mother’s Milk to me. Although the wisdom of God has blessed me with the insight to write this book, I know that He wants me in a constant state of learning for my own sake as well as for the sake of others.
I like to use another translation for Mother’s Milk and that is Divine Order. Divine Order is God’s way of doing everything. If we take a look at the state of the world today, there are countless things that we can find wrong. If we could truly see what God sees (because He does see it all), I’m pretty certain that we would be overwhelmed. There have been times when I have asked the Lord, “How can anyone make a difference?” because everything seems to be so out of control. It seems as though the world has crossed over into a black hole, pulling it further away from righteousness and closer to the bowels of hell, almost as if hell itself is gravity.
Everything from promiscuity to greed to homosexuality and everything in between is running rapid in the earth to the point that it’s now being encouraged. The encouragement of decency and integrity is becoming more and more of a rarity and is being made a mockery of. No one stands for truth anymore. Whatever your truth is (no matter how degrading or demoralizing) seems to be good enough. In the words of Pastor Rod Parsley of
Whenever discussing the morality of the world, or the lack thereof, you must first go to the root of the problem, and unfortunately there are no quick fixes. Everything that is wrong with the morals of the world today starts at home period. We can’t blame the media, society, music or anything else for the way our children turn out. I know that these things do play a part in our everyday lives to some degree but ultimately you will be the person that is called upon when your child is out of control. No one is going to say your child has a terrible attitude or is promiscuous because they listen to hip-hop. They’re going to ask what their life at home is like. And that’s the bottom line. Although we as parents have an undeniable challenge ahead of us in combating these perilous times. If we are children of the Most High God then we are called by His name, and our children should be identified by the same. We must remain diligent in this battle because the soul of our seeds is a battle worth fighting for.
Realizing that everyone has different circumstances that may cause different outcomes does not change the need for drastic divine intervention. Whether you’re part of the majority or the minority, whatever the anomalies — abuse, family history, demographics, being motherless or fatherless — everything that has happened to you has played a role in adding or subtracting from the sum total that will ultimately be the person you become. This is a lot to consider, but just remember that with God no matter how unfortunate or impossible you think things are to overcome, nothing can prevent you from becoming the mother that God intends for you to be which will also enhance you as an individual. You will be more confident in who you are, you’ll soar with eagles, God will open your eyes and loose your mind to be creative, your talents will begin to manifest in ways that they never have, you might even discover talents and gifts that
