Abby's Heart

Dear Heavenly Father,

Lord, my heart is aching,
Lord I’m feeling sad.
I don’t know what to do,
But I know I need you, Dad.
Father, I just need to sit on your lap,
And tell you all my woes.
I know you’ve planned a path for me,
But I’m not sure where it goes.
Lord, would you please guide me
With every step I take?
Would you please forgive me
If I make a few mistakes?
Hold my hand dear Father,
As we go along.
You know I need you, Daddy
You never steer me wrong.
I love you dearly Father,
Please never leave my side.
Comfort me, dear Father
When I want to hide.
I really love you, Father
That’s all I have to say.
I can’t wait to speak with you again
The next time that I pray.




The Window

I spend a lot of time these days
Looking out this window at the beautiful world.
I spend a lot of time these days
Feeling like a lost and frightened little girl.
I find comfort in knowing
That eventually everything will be okay.
But what about today, Lord?
What about today?
Why am I so suddenly afraid
Of what people will think of me?
Why am I so hurt and repulsed
By the reflection I see?
Maybe one day
I’ll be able to enjoy such a beautiful day.
Maybe one day
I won’t beg you not to leave, and you will still choose to stay.
