About the Book

About the Author

Born in Augusta, Georgia in the year of 1982, Takisha Perry was reared by her parents and protected by her older sister. Never having one place to call home, instead known as a nomad among her friends. Her father was in the military, traveling was his job and moving was her life. After a little adjustment Takisha soon began to enjoy traveling though she was forced to leave her friends every few years and once again, becoming the new girl in class. She developed a personality that many found comforting, optimistic and
unique. Out of her uniqueness grown a love for poetic expression.

Often I felt lonely, many looked up to me for inspiration but I looked up to Poetry. After her father retired from the Military, the family made
Augusta, Georgia there home once again. Graduating from Glenn Hills High School
in 2000 with two full scholarships to attend college, she set out to capture the world. Soon after completing her first year of college the world captured her. For the first time in life she was forced to rethink who she was , and what she could truly accomplish.

Maybe, I am just preparing myself to fail; not everyone can be someone special. Leaving home had awakened the doubts of surviving on her own in a heartless world and reality was no longer a whisper in the distance it now danced in plain view. After some soul searching, some failed relationships , failed friendships ,many drastic mistakes and multiple un-filling jobs Takisha came back years later to complete the one thing that she always found comfort in, poetry.

Today, Takisha still resides in
Augusta: the place where she was born, and the place that birth her passion for life once more in 2008.
