About the Book

A fictional story about a retired teacher that substitutes in an eleventh grade history class. Before class started the students were in a heave discussion with a boy who announced his disbelief in God. When the substitute teacher told the students to sit down and be quiet, the boy who started the discussion stood up and with a firm voice said, "what about you Mr. Coleman, do you believe there is a God"? The teachers response is what this story is about.


About the Author

Crosby H. Barns has lived a diversified life. He graduated from high school in upstate New York in 1951. To fulfill his childhood dream he traveled west to Phoenix, Arizona and spent a year working  with horses on a Dude ranch. After realizing this shovel and pitch fork was not part of his dream, he hitch a ride to Hollywood, Cal. where he worked in a machine shop until Uncle Sam called him into the Army. After the Army, then college where he met a pretty young lady and on December 21, 1951, they were married. After college he worked for an aerospace company, working on various space programs including the Apollo space program. Teaching  in a state college came next. Then he joined his brother in a small town where they opened an auto parts store. After standing on your legs all day the sold the store. Selling real-estate came next and on February 1995, Crosby retired. At the age of 73 he started writing short stories. Crosby and his wife live in a retirement community in Southern California. They have two children, three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
