About the Book

Have you ever made mud pies on a hot summer day?  When the sun is real high and there’s no shade under the trees with their branches spread wide.  The leaves on the trees don’t move with a wind, and the dirt is so dry that it leaves dust powder all over your feet.

About the Author

Barbara J. Stevenson-Spurgon, lives with her husband James A. Spurgon in Marion, Indiana.  As a parent and a former Middle School teacher she is motivated to use her training and experience to write children’s books that encourage parents to become more actively involved with their child’s learning.

Inspired by her own childhood and the lessons learned from play she has created this innovative book.  “Have you ever made mud pies on a Hot Summer Day” is a fun book as a read aloud for young children.  It is also a fun book that introduces terms for advanced learning for children of all ages.
