About the Book
Two people, Alberto and Deirdre Camacho, whom, unwittingly cross paths with a creature from and old New Jersey folk-law long talked about amongst the older members of rural New Jersey, six months after moving from Manhattan to Montclair. This creature was called the New Jersey Devil. Deirdre was attacked by it in their bedroom one-half-year after moving there. She then fell ill shortly afterwards. They then moved to Canada the following spring at Deirdre’s request. Alberto and an acquaintance of his, one Jennifer Lightfoot, saw something terrible happen in the basement of the old stone house where he and his wife lived. The house was located in a small town named Mingon, in north eastern Quebec Provence. Jennifer and Alberto were now being blamed for what they saw. Their accusers were a small group of influential men from the town. The men wanted to protect the secret of the house which they and their ancestors kept for hundreds of years. Jennifer had heard stories about this group of fabled men over the years. Now she knows this group and the stores about them are real. Alberto and Jennifer fled to Montclair to seek the help of a friend of Alberto’s; his name is Detective Sam Donovan. He befriended him several months ago, shortly after his wife was attacked. When they told the detective what had taken place in the basement of the old house he had them incarcerated. This, of course, is where the story really begins.
