About the author and illustrator
Bernice and Andy Tate are a South Carolina wife and husband children’s book, author/illustrator team, who through their creativity and caring, have made it their life work to create meaningful, educational entertainment for children, starting with work in television in the 1970’s. For years, they touched kids’ lives with creative, inspired works on the small screen and in art galleries. Upon retiring, the attention of this amazing couple turned to the written word, and the first result of this new mission was Storybooks-4-Kids, a social innovation publishing project, featuring themes of multiculturalism, anti-bullying, personal safety, imagination and the power of diversity. The Tates strongly believe that children need to be read to in infancy, in order to read at an early age.
The goals are two fold:
· To place bright, cheerful easy-to-read original storybooks, accompanied with imaginative illustrations in the lives of children.
· To enhance the development of reading to learn, through the magic of storybooks.
