Chase turned to leave but Count Black grabbed him by the arm and wouldn’t let go. In a flash, he was wrestled to the ground. Then he was thrown into the back of the car, skateboard and all, and pushed to the floor. Several sets of hands seemed to be holding him down. “Hey, stop that! What are you doing? Let me go. You can’t do this. If it is money you want, just ask my parents. They will give you anything you want,” yelled Chase. “Geez! What have I gotten myself into now? That old saying, ‘Curiosity killed the cat,’ well, I might just be that cat!” he thought to himself.

About the Book
"The Telling" is a tale of escape, adventure, exploration, and discovery. In Lusteria, a kingdom light years from Earth, Princess Annie, Megan, and their resourceful, skate-boarding friend Chase find evidence of a forgotten, ancient, and amazingly technologically-advanced society. Always a menace to these ten-year-olds and the country is Vacunia, the villainous queen, who plots to forcefully retake control of the throne. A real page turner, this tale is a blend of futuristic technology and medieval customs.

H.L. Klun was born and educated in Virginia. Presently Klun and her husband live in Potomac, Maryland. In addition to writing, she enjoys classical music, painting, cooking, and boating on the Chesapeake Bay.
