"David" your going to miss your bus again. It's after 6.
Thank you Ellen. As David reached for his briefcase and coat, and headed out the door. As he started twards the elevator, he noticed the doors closing."Hold the elevator, Please"
David took off running and saw a hand come between the doors to stop them from closing.
Thank you for holding the elevator, i would hate to miss this bus, where I've already missed my regular bus.
"Yes I know" replied the lady standing holding a briefcase.
"You do?" David looked surprised.
Oh yes, every night I can just about tell what time it is by the sound of you running to the elevator. "There he goes late again it must be 5:30. As she smiled.
David couldn't help but notice the gleem in her eyes and that wonderful smile."YUP" that's me always running late.
well it shows your giving 100% to your clients.
Well thank you , as he stuck out his hand my name is David.
"OH yes I know" David McCloud up rising lawyer from the firm of Master's & Fields.And I am Susan Davis as she reached and grabed his hand. "SNAP"
"WOW" Did you feel that? as she pulled her hand away.
Sorry,must of been static electricity from me running on the carpet.
As the doors opened to the lobby. so which bus is yours David asked.
She laughed "The next one" We both missed our bus.
"Well look" since it was my fault you missed your bus, by holding up the elevator. Please allow me to buy you coffee there's a diner right across the street, that I have gone too a few times when I missed my bus.
Which I bet is quite often, as she smiled that wonderful smile.
When they entered the dinner "Here we are"
"HEY SHOOTER" David turned around to see who he was talking too. only to realize it was Susan! David looked at Susan "SHOOTER" Whats that all about.
She laughed, I can explain, as they took the connor booth, in high school & college I use to play Basketball , guess you could say I had hot hands and knew how to shooy baskets, well Steve over there the owner we went to college together, and he was the one that hung that nickname on me.
Then I met Mark, got married and started a family, with out thinking of a career in the pro's.
So what's your story David?
well like you i had hot feet and guess I was pretty good, but an injury ended all my dreams of being the next great NFL running back.
When they left the diner that night unbeknown to them, that when they entered that elevator, that they would be entering in a world of "Stolen Moment's "

About the Book
Is a story of fiction of David McCloud who had it all, star running back at college, Helen prettiest cheerleader girlfriend.All NFL scouts wanted to sign him.With big contracts, high living everything Helen wanted out of life. And she made sure she was going to ride that gravy train. To her love came 2nd or even 3rd, what came 1st was the life style she could have.But helen was in for a big surprise.
When number 54 in a white jersey took David down with a blind side hit, they both were brought back to reality. After two knee operationsto try and correct the damage Thats when the big offers stopped coming in.
Helen realized the mistake she had made trapping him into marriage with a child.
David worked hard and finished in the top ten of his class.And got a nice job with one of the largest law firms of Masters & Fields. But that wasn't good enough for Helen. So she found other ways to enjoy herself.
David's life left alott to be desired, that is till a rainy night he met Susan davis in an elevator. Susan Davis also was a lawyer with the same firm.
Both their lives change once they entered in to that elevator and entered into a life of stolen moment's.
About the Author
Don Viera, born on Martha's Vineyard, Mass. Born into a family of 2 other brothers and three sisters. Moved off the island at the age of 5, grew up in North Fairhaven, Mass.
Served two years in the Army, stationedin Germany, Honorable Discharge. married, a father of 3, with a wife and 2 daughters and a son.7 grandchildren and 4 great grand children.
Has a passion for wood working, enjoys all sports,mostly enjoys telling stories to the grandchildren and watching them laugh. Enjoys low tide is where you'll find him to go and dig for Quahog's (hard shell clams)
Has written a few novels, as well as many children stories, still hoping to get published. also writes poetry having one published"No Matter TheTime"
His education is limited with n2 years of high school, started working at 16 full time to age 65m with only 2 years missing due to being in the service.
Everyone has a story to tell, I believe the stories I write are about everyday people, and I believe that who ever reads them will be able to relate to them in some way, shape or form, if nothing else at lest I hope they find them entertaining.
