Gracefully, women are waiting at the wharf

for their husbands and loved ones who must return from the war.

Follow the bright petals of roses that fall

as hugs and kisses are thrown to

join the tears that have been stored

in their eyes for years --

I wish them happiness and love

as reunions have happened again --

With fathers meeting children

some screaming in surprise.

Lovers are about to become spouses.

I watch them from the corner --

The woman that rules your life

appreciates you when she chooses to.

The bills that you pay and grumble as though

that you've gotten yourself into.

The thorn that was once a rose.

The memories you held on to

and now you pray to forget.

The make ups and break ups

between which are the affairs and secrets.

The hugs and kisses while beginning afresh.

The new love to whom you've vowed not to repeat old errors.

The women that come although they see your wedding band.

After kissing a prince she ran away from home with him on a horse.

He loved her cheeks and kissed them each day.

This prince who became great grand dad

would steal his bride from her parent's home

and take her with him until grand dad was born.

Then meetings of lovers brought forth more lovers who met

and kissed to bring forth new people who would grow and learn to kiss.

Here I am with the lady to love and have my own kiss --

A child has come from all my kissing --

Boy child to me is born.

A pair of old shoes

but one shoe lace

to cut in halve and

please them both.

To choose between a

friend and money

one may have an attitude

and the other brings gratitude.

A sweeter life may follow,

but you cherish them both.

To take a stand

between work and a nap

and make a choice

which one is right.

This or that or both

or none.
