Preston the Turtle was the one who owned the town’s shoe store. Preston was the oldest turtle around. Every time Sammy saw Preston, he was wearing blue overalls and had a smile on his face. Preston the Turtle turned around and said, “Why hello, Mother Squirrel and Sammy. Sammy said, “Hello, Mr. Preston.” Then Preston the Turtle asked, “How can I help you today?" Mother Squirrel said, “Sammy needs some shoes,” Preston said, “Wow, how time flies. I remember your very first pair of shoes, Sammy.” Sammy smiled" Preston said, “Yes, I remember that you had to have the color red on the side of your shoe.”

About the Author
I grew up in a small town in Alabama. My inspiration for writing this book would be my daughter and son, lets talk about my daughter first. When she was nine months old we would here a loud thump on the roof of our home. We found the noise to be a squirrel, we assumed the squirrel was falling out of the pecan tree branches above our home. One day I said to my daughter "their goes Sammy the squirrel falling out of the tree again. Well she just started laughing and everytime I said Sammy the squirrel she would laugh. At night I would make up stories using Sammy the squirrel in them. Then I got smart and started writing them down, then voila, I had seven written before I knew it. Now my daughter was the inspiration for writing the stories down, but I have to say my son was the inspiration for getting the stories out to the public. Because when I started reading him the stories, he would laugh out at the words Sammy the squirrel, just like his sister. So I would have to say my children brought out a God giving talent in me that I did not know I had. I hope you like the book as much as my children do, and many more adventures of Sammy the squirrel to come.
