What is nothing some of you ask?

Is it really doing something

Or just a thing of the past.

Well this here is a fact.

Doing nothing can create a poem,

Make someone lonesome,

Fool around in space with a hobo suit,

Cry for the heroes who died in service boots.

Lie in grace with bread and wine,

Jump and shout like all the rest of the zoot suit dudes.

Eat breakfast at Tiffany and supper in France

With Edgar Allen Poe.

Fall down and get up again in a dream of wishful thinking.

Watch T.V. and waste half your waking hours,

Copulate with strive and hope for Heaven.

All of these things and many more comprise nothing,

Would you like some more.

There's a ton of nothings just hanging abound,

All you've got to do is look around.

But, just think if you were a total mute from birth,

That there is something to fling at this here earth.
