From Candle in the Night, Chapter 7
'But what about the candle? We have to find it before that boat gets here. And then we have light it before he gets on it. But most of all, what about you?" Julie questioned. Mesalx laid a hand on her shoulder.
'I'll be fine. Just don't get killed." he said. Mesalx then went back into his shadow form and disappeared. Julie knew what hard task laid before her. She must jump down and drive the stake through Drakus. Julie took a deep breath and jumped down.
Drakus took no notice of her. He was inspecting the coffin's interior carefully. Julie slowly approached him. She held the stake in her hand tightly. She made her way right behind him and raised it up. Just as she did so, Drakus turned around. But before he could stop her, Julie stabbed him with the stake. Drakus groaned loudly in pain as Julie drove it deeper and deeper into his chest. She then left it there.
'Now you have to worry about being in good shape in order to get on your little get away boat," Julie said as she backed away. But Drakus simply stopped groaning and looked at her.
'Hello Julie," he said as he smiled evily at her. Julie's eyes were wide with disbelief. Drakus grabbed the stake and started to pull it out. When he suceeded he held it at his side.
'Is this your silver, Dark Eco filled stake? Because it looks more like your friend Mesalx'" Drakus asked as he threw the stake to the side. Julie backed away from him.
'How long has it been? Thirty, forty years?" Drakus asked. Julie gave him a confused look. Drakus began to remove his cloak.
'You don't remember do you?" he asked as he threw his cloak to the floor.
'Exactly what is it that you want me to remember?" Julie asked. Drakus moved closer to her but Julie kept moving away.
'You are the sister of Jessica Taylor. You are the queen of the Water Arithanids. You were trained by the Fire and Moon Arithanids from Shannon to Cairo. But, like me, hunted by all others who hate you and wish you dead." Drakus explained. Julie, however, was unafraid.
'Christina and Jessica know all about you. It's no surprise that you would know about me." Julie said.
'Yes but it can be much more than this," Drakus said as he grabbed Julie by the hand. She struggled to get away from him but he was surprisingly strong.
'We have such history, you and I Julie." Drakus said as he released Julie's hand. He turned and slowly walked away.
'Have you ever wondered why you have such terrible nightmares? Ones which involve those whom you love the most, suffering, dying, crying for help?" he added. Julie slowly walked up to him.
'How the hell do you think you know me?" she asked as Drakus turned around.
