How to Get to Where GOD Wants You to Be

It has often been said that our lives are a journey. Sometimes the journey appears to be easy and yet at other times it’s so difficult it’s hard not to believe that we won’t make it to the end. From the moment we are born we have to grow and change, learn new things and progress in life. But there are many decisions we can make along the way that will either help us get to where God wants us to be or take us to a dead end, cause us to make wrong turns or force us to give up altogether.

Some people think they have arrived at their destination, only to find that they are still a long way off. They have reached the place that they wanted to be but they aren’t where God wants them to be. If you want the things that God has planned for you then what’s important is to be on your way, keeping your eyes “on the goal” and refusing to turn back.

This book is all about that journey. I am not writing it as someone who has arrived; it is as much a journey for me in writing it as I hope it will be for you in reading it. It’s about discovering where you are on your journey and helping you to keep moving. Everyone is at a different place on their journey and there are many different journeys to be made – each chapter will explore one of them.

Be a good traveller. Come prepared to admit your past wrong turns and get back on the right road. Be ready to trust the map of God’s word and not your own understanding. Know that if you ever get lost, Jesus will find you; if you’re ever afraid then He will show you the way; if you’re ever tempted to give up then remind yourself that He’s waiting for you at your true journey’s end.

Don’t be proud. Ask for help when you need it and help will be on its way. Pray about what God reveals to you about the stage you are at on your journey and remember that before you were even born, He had a destiny planned for you.
