Light at the End of the Tunnel

Chapter 1

I was born in Chicago, IL & from the time I was born until the time I was 3 I believe to have had a normal life to say.  I know that may sound strange but that’s a time in my life in my childhood that I actually felt loved and most wanted and not from my very own mother who brought me into this world by my father who I never got to know being he passed on when I was 3 years of age.  You’d be amazed at what children will remember…………

For most part as a child I was always told that my father was killed, as I got older I had found evidence to prove that he in fact had committed suicide.  The reason I speak of this now and not later on in the book, is for the simple fact that this is where the misery began for both my brother and I. 

I had found a note that was written by my father before committing to the act.  His purpose for doing such a thing??  He wanted his children that being my brother and myself, he did not want for us to have to suffer financially in any kind of way being there was a conflict of some sorts between my mother and him and from what I made out of what was found was that they were about to lose the house and he refused for that to happen. 

I suppose he thought my mother would love us just as much as he did, but he had left everything to my mother. He stated he wanted those funds to be used properly in the well up bringing of his children. Well something went horribly wrong… because I think she over looked the word “children” in there.

She absolutely disregarded any of his wishes, but who was to know when she had never told the truth about what really happened to him.  See in the note he mentioned to make it sound like it was a burglary & murder, so had she told the truth, she wouldn’t have had what was left to her for all of us, which turned into for herself.  She had completely forgotten that she in fact had 2 children.  If I had it my way I would have had rather been poor, middle class anything just as long as my father would have stayed around for us.

I know my life would have been different having been if he were still alive.  The things I’ve learned though in this life and in the way I grew up, thinking things weren’t fair for me, hating the world…these were things that in fact I had to go through in order to be the person I am today and be able to be the mother that I am today.  Being I know that my purpose was to give my beautiful and intelligent daughter what I never had someone that loves her more than myself and always will until my day is done.
