About the Book

The challenges we face in life whether it is to cope with supporting yourself or your family would always endure a sense of doubt. No one is sure about the consequences of their decision. The moment we experience a problem or a situation, we depend solely on our instincts to survive embarrassment. The character in the story embellished a sense of self-preservation in everything he had done. He deliberately refused the idea of failing, denying to himself what the consequences of dealing with the problem honestly would be. The fear inhibited his senses of dealing with challenges so that he won’t be judged. In a realistic way the character that I had deliberately refused to name is construed as a clueless self-destructive person with a sense of purpose. The method of instilling a sense of mystery is to allow the reader to empathise with him not to judge. The cursed life or an ordinary man is a story that brings to the surface how easy the path of good fortune changes. We should try and be honest and truthful. Never to judge or be judged. The security he refers to is his family. He wanted so much to win the approval of his family especially his brother Joe whom he had felt had lost faith in his integrity to speak the truth. He seemed to produce this false identity synonymous to Walter Mitty. Psychologically he pans out as a well-balanced young man with an over rated imagination but on the other hand he possesses an evil and unimaginable streak that causes chaos and harm to anyone that crosses his path, The idiosyncrasies shown by the character eliminates the idea of empathising with his plight but instead shows contempt and anger, Do we feel that the hapless character is nothing more than a waste of space and deserves life’s upsets? The idea of the story is not to judge but to incorporate a sense of understanding on how we perceive our lives. We all make mistakes in our lives and we deal with them the best way we can. The turn around of circumstances implemented in the stage by stage account of his life incorporated a consistency that eventually implodes into disaster. Being honest and truthful played a major part in the story. It was the only thing that was missing in his life. The true analogy of the concept of honesty is far removed from the importance of living a balanced life. We have the ability to speak the truth but fail to use it. No body wants to know the truth about them because it hurts them too much so they accept people to lie. The cursed life of an ordinary man is an indication of human failure to be honest and true to everyone and above all to yourself. Enjoy!
