Dare To Be Different

Still up at 2:00 a.m., I threw in the towel. My head pounded painfully and my chest felt like there was a thousand pounds of pressure on it; I fi nally gave up on sleep. In my bare feet, I proceeded to get out of the van.

Needing some footwear on my bare feet, I quickly tiptoed my way around to the trunk of the van. Lifting up the hood, I searched for my runners. Exhausted from sleep deprivation and shattered nerves, I could feel my inner rage coming to the surface.

Where are my shoes? I silently fumed, growing more aggressive by the second. Due to over-packing, one of my rubber boots fell to the ground. For some reason that was the fi nal straw that broke this old camel’sback.

In a blind rage, I picked up the boot and chucked it as far as I possibly could. Not wanting to leave the second boot out, I picked him up and threw him as well. Can you imagine? It paints a pretty comical picture, doesn’t it?

Feeling better aft er taking some rage out on my boots, I ran after them and put them on. Still feeling the chaos inside my mind, I began sobbing. All I wanted was peace of mind and serenity.
