He also describes many experiences within a military career as a paratrooper, Instructor, and Army Officer, his combat experiences in Korea, and experiences and accomplishments within a 23 year span within the U.S. Army Reserve as he rose to the rank of full Colonel.  He discusses childhood work experiences, also, with a Major Oil Company following college, and with a State Governmental Agency in later years.  His family is stressed in some detail, and he focuses on many of the problems that arise within family relationships, as well as, family joys, experiences and accomplishments.  Not only is it a personal story, but an insight into some of the historical events of the past several decades.

Basically, “Skateboarding on a Cobblestone Street” is a story of surviving through a series of life’s experiences, some of the lessons learned, and how, in the end, the writer was able to overcome a multitude of life’s challenges to become an up-beat person, now in his twilight years, and how there is hope for each of us, regardless of our situation or status of life if attitudes are right.
