About the Book

Jeff Barnes is the kind of guy anyone would cherish as a friend. Having done his time in Viet Nam, wandered the states a bit, then settles down to a nine to five job in San Diego.

Love and respect go hand in hand. He had learned them both with his dealings with dogs, in combat. While the book deals more deeply with Jeff’s life; particularly his love life, the strong feelings for his dog is apparent.

I might interject here, that the author personally knew a veteran of WWII that swore a dog saved his life twice. Once in Italy and again in German. He wanted to bring the dog home after the war, but the government claimed it was trained to kill and had to be destroyed. He became quite emotional when talking of it, fifty years later.

Even for people who only mildly care about animals, the life and loves of Jeff should be comfortable reading. He leads an open lifestyle while showing respect and caring for all those he comes in contact with.

Adult reading. Enjoy.

About the Author

As a semi-retired plumber, equipment operator and sort of jack of all trades, Mr. Ellis found himself with time to reflect on life in general, and the way we humans react to each other. Not only to each other, but to our four legged friends.

Almost always having a dog as a companion, he thought it appropriate to write about one. It took little research to find others who shared the respect and love for the loyal animals. He has noted that people out walking their dogs, can fall into easy conversation, when they meet.

The topic is universal and non-controversial.

Why, oh why, can’t people get along on other matters, as well as they do their pets?

Mr. Ellis’ books attempt to convey that, in fact, some people do live their lives in such an open manner, without jealousy and contempt.

Being non-judgmental is definitely one of the finest virtues a person can possess.

The author hopes this book, designed for adult readers, brings you enjoyment without the murder and mayhem that seems so popular in today’s entertainment.
