About the Book

                                              Inspiration in Moonlight

Inspiration in Moonlight, is a collection of poems spanning over ten years of creative writing. Through great travels and rewarding experiences, life has taught that it is but a living journey: winding roads, splashing in the sea, kissing, fighting, crying or laughing with an occasional ooh and ahh thrown in there. On your journey, let Inspiration in Moonlight provide a short glimpse or a long meditation of a world through an artist's eye. I see inspiration in my mind, causing a catlyst of creative imagination, passion for life and necessity for expression. With hopes to touch the world with words and provide an outlet for entertainment and personal reflection...Enjoy!

Peace

About the Author

LAWRENCE A. EPPS

Lawrence A. Epps is an exciting new talent whose bold  text is a welcome addition to today’s group of emerging, young literary talents.

The Jersey City, NJ native discovered his talent in grade school, with hopes of winning the affections of a female classmate. While he didn’t get the girl, he did walk away with the discovery of a talent that would soon become a life-long passion.

By age 15, Lawrence was writing regularly and by the time he’d graduated from New Jersey’s esteemed Saint Peters Preparatory School at 17, he became active in poetry venues throughout the New Jersey and New York areas. Later he began making a name for himself in other cities. As a student at Clark Atlanta University in the mid-1990s, Lawrence performed at local venues as well as events at prestigious neighboring learning institutions such as Spelman and Morehouse colleges.

In 1999 Lawrence enlisted in the Navy, but he remained loyal to his craft. Stationed in Florida, he became a member of The Poets of Fifth Element, a local group known for organizing and hosting slams in the Pensacola area. He went on to spend the next few years winning numerous poetry slams and writing for web publications including Poetry.com. His five-years  with the Navy took him to various countries within the European spectrum. Ultimately, his travels have been invaluable inspirations for his work.

His forthcoming luminous debut, aptly titled Inspiration in Moonlight is an engaging piece offering the author’s take on sensuality, lust and love. These jewels selected from a collection of prose spanning over a decade also touch on the sociopolitical climates of the past and present, which have helped shape the young poet into the man he is today. He is also working on a collection of children’s books.
