About the Author

The Author: Sérgio Constantino

I was 21 years when i finish the school, my course of Restaurant/Bar in the Hotelary School of Faro (Algarve-Portugal), this was in 1991.

Then i get it my first experience on Cruises, at the Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines in Alaska, since that time until now, i have been travelling around the world and getting much more experience in this metter, as i was working then for: Premier Cruise Lines, Pullmantur Cruises, Silver Sea Cruises, Princess Cruises, P&O Ferry Lines and LD Ferry Lines and now for Azamara Cruise Lines, between this ones, working in luxury Restaurants at mainland, luxury Hotels where i have been working as a Head Waiter and Restaurant Manager.

During all this time, i was getting more experience, as i learned much more about all, i meet wonderful people around the world, making new friendships and having the experience to known them costums, traditions, as i get it the experience, i had the idea to start the project of publishing a book, a Cruise Career Guide to let others to have some of the same experiences i have it before, so i found and get it material for the book which no one can found in the internet.

I always love it to work on them and i will keep working for long time on them, apart of been very hard working on them, we just need to like it, love it or not, cause many of persons, can not angled this kind of jobs, been faraway from family and child friendships but the point is to known the world, get wonderful wages, travelling for free most of the times with free accommodation, meals, Medical insurances and helping them own familys in a much better financial metter. In 2009 i was working for Robinson Club Hotels in the south of Portugal as a Head Waiter in the summer time and in the end of season i as transfered to another Hotel of the company in Austria for the winter season, after that i was invited to join the wonderfull Cunard Line Cruise Company (Cruise Ship Queen Victoria), i did 1 more contract and i left for the last time the cruise ships to join the mainland Hotels once again where i am right now, while i was updating my book i was taking care of my divorce in mean time as well, at this time i am living in the south of Portugal-Algarve whilling to travel once again or to Austria or to the Ferry Line industry or maybe to a 5 Star Restaurant as a Restaurant Manager in the city of Lisbon (Capital of Portugal). It was a shame what happen with the Cruise ship of Costa Cruceros in Italy, this kind of accident´s only happen once in a live time, we are profissionals, we are onboard the cruise ships to serve always well the passengers and let them always with a smile and happy.
