About the Author

“Officer Beth” was sworn-in as a San Francisco Police Officer on February 18, 1980 at the age of twenty-two years old.  She was the first American/Filipina female officer in the San Francisco Police Department.  She grew up in the Alameda, Oakland, and San Francisco Bay Area.  She brought her heart from San Francisco to Las Vegas, Nevada in the year 2000, where she resides with her husband, Inspector Larry.

She has a “valid for life” Teacher’s Credential for Police Science and possess advanced certificates from the Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training for fulfilling the requirements for character, education, training, and experience.  Officer Beth has a certificate of achievement in Law Enforcement Supervision Skills from the University of San Francisco, issued in 1995.

In 1981, she was awarded a Silver Medal of Valor while conducting undercover work, and in 1989, represented the San Francisco Police Department in the World Police and Fire Games in Vancouver, Canada, where she won a gold medal in the women’s tennis singles competition; a gold medal in the women’s double’s competition, and a silver medal in the mixed doubles competition with husband Larry.  She was also the singles gold medalist for three years in the California Police Games and an S.F.P.D. Ironwoman in 1986 with the first place team.

She has earned a "Ph.D" from the University of the “Streets of San Francisco” of the study of “Human Behavior”.  She spent many years of lab work with real live human specimens.

Most of all, she holds the toughest job of the United States’ Marine Corps. “A United States Combat Marine Mom.”
