Chapter 1
When I look out of the window of my home, my life, I see a path lined with flowers. I see people in my life who bless me with their love and let me love them back. Each flower has its special meaning for me; one is friend, one is mother, one is brother, sister, grandmother. I see the beauty in the flowers with grateful eyes. We are connected, though each has its own individual cycle of growth.
There is one I see, growing there reaching toward the sky, whose heart is pure, whose perfume is a sweet soothing balm to the senses. I stretch out my hand and instantly draw back; this one must not be picked just now.
How can I tell you, Precious Flower, that in this moment I can only briefly stare then must look away? How do I say it is not fair for me to snip you from your place, only to stand you in a water filled jar to wait, wither and die? I am a man beneath the snow,unready to open myself, and you require nothing less. I will not pick you unless I have grown into the light; unless I can take you carefully from your roots, carry you inside, and press you into the book of my life forever.
Until then, I must be glad that you are on my path, in the soil, feeling the sun and rain, where you go on growing in spite of me. Until then, I can only give thanks that as I move forward ever so slowly, I can catch your fragrance on a healing breeze. If I cannot offer you my life’s pages in the midst of my own preparation time, if I cannot give you promises of what the future may hold, will you yet grant me the right to stop along the walk, gaze fully at your upturned face and tell you that you are beautiful?

About the Author
After bouncing through the western U.S. as a young adult, he landed back in Utah where he built his life. At age twenty six Kelly started his own moving company with nothing more to his name than a hand full of dollars and a truck he was renting-to-own.
After a rough but determined beginning including months of living in the very truck he was working out of, while also sending money to his family, he finally worked his way into success. Kelly has two sons he shares a loving close relationship with and calls Salt Lake City his home.
Kelly writes using a microphone, recording his voice and the thoughts he has as he travels this road called life. He not only writes from his own experiences, he writes about what he's observed in the lives of others. He doesn’t sit at a computer and tap at the keys leaving a chance to edit as he goes. He speaks, records, and the messages are then transcribed. The end result are messages that are very raw, straight from his soul and totally honest.
Kelly's goal is to make the passages meaningful, thought provoking,and life changing for people of all ages, including children. He uses simple words so everyone can understand his messages and not have to run to the other room to get a dictionary.
Kelly has exposed his heart for the world to see. A process that has renewed his will to live, cleansed his soul and brought forth his light, so that perhaps others may learn to have faith, strength, hope and courage to battle on.
