The Christie’s have twenty two grandchildren, and this is the first of several fiction books in which a different group of the children visit their grandparents ranch during summer vacation. Each of the children has their own unique adventure in which the others may also play a part.

Horses, cattle, skunk and mountain lion encounters, Indian caves, gold discovery, a kidnapping, and being lost in the mountains are woven into this first book.
