Business in Great Waters (Scripture Poem)
Business in great waters of His Spirit is yours
Where you, like Columbus, have ever pressed Godward
In Westward quest to see His works, His wonders in the deep
Beyond where most would dare launch forth
And for such a time, sailing heedlessly, unheralded into the Son
For in the deep is where the nets must be let down once more
Where nothing has been caught before in dark upon old well-worn shore
Heave up the anchors in the morning watch and fly
And let the sea-winds fluff out the mainsail's banners
Rudders loosed, hold tackings to the wind
And know He's got new shorelines yet unseen, untapped
Where foot has never yet trod untried sod in God
Tho' cargoes have been tossed to lighten up the load
There's sustenance still and Grace to refill it all
And so, sail on, oh mariner of stout heart!
Great sojourner of His Truth, storm-tossed but free
He holds you in all seasons, ever coming 'round again
With greater store to load your craft with Joy
Weeping and sowing, greater those sheaves all grow
And there is never ultimate loss for you
When cost turns into shores unseen, all given you
Just when your greatest emptying-out is done
Atlantic has been crossed--sardonic mockery has not won
But Him Whom your heart follows after only ever gives you greater still
The gold of all you thought you left behind.

About the Book
Changed on the Wheel is a collection, presented in chronological order, of personal poems written mostly to others on different occasions. These poems were written with a heart to encourage, to edify spiritually, and at times in a stream of humor. Some of the poems express my own places of spiritual consternation where my search for more of His insight was taking place thru' the poem. These are intensely personal, but I have shared 'em all with the heartcry of sharing my innermost thoughts and experiences as He changes me day by day, ever continually. Not all of the poems will minister to every person, but somewhere among 'em, each reader will find a "nugget" to identify with or which will unveil fresh truth clothed in the simple garbs of a poem. The poems can help one to progress from one level of spiritual maturity to another because this is the spectrum of events which has inspired 'em, by His Spirit.
About the Author
Changed on the Wheel is my fourth book as a writer, so my only obvious credential is the inward "mandate" to put thoughts on paper. Writers simply do that. Having come thru' a many-yeared spiritual gamut of ordinary Christian church growth, I have been graced to experience His changes in fresh dimensions in more recent times under the auspices of Mark Hanby Ministries and those associated with this ministry. So the poems in this book are marker events in my own personal changes of spiritual growth, not ever implying that I have "arrived." This is a journey, and the poems are glimpses of how this all happens in our lives in Him when we are corporately joined in the Spirit even beyond the boxes religion so comfortably builds. There is Life beyond protocol, and there is a breaking-out of traditional mentality which is His trajectory for our true identity in Christ.
