Cousin No More

Summer is almost over and nothing good has happened to me. My friends are going to be back on the 26th and I have to go shopping with them on the same day so my whole summer has gone to waste and that's what my whole summer might stay like until I go back to school.

''Massie come on someones here for you".Yelled my mom from down the stairs.

"Who is it" I yelled back.

"Come down and see".

I always hated it when my mom did that all she had to do was say who it was so if I didn't like the person I could just make up an excuse not to go. So I smeared on some lipgloss and went down stairs I stopped dead on my tracks because the person that was at the doorway was my cousin Lisa Portch.

"Hi Massie".

"Hi Lisa what are you doing here I thought you were going to California''.

''Yeah I was but my family wanted to stay but I didn't want to so my mom called your mom and they made arragments and so here I am''.

''Wow interesting Mom can I talk to you for a minute''.

''Sure honey''.

It seemed as if my mom wanted to take here time because she already knew what was going to happen. But finally she walked into the kitchen and right when we stepped inside I started talking

'' Mom what is she doing here''.

''She came to stay with us for a little while''.

''How little mom?''

''Until the end of the school year''.

''Mom you call that little mom''.

''You should be happy that your cousin is here with you, plus you haven't done anything this summer besides go on that cruise''.

''Yeah mom I know but I don't want her here''.

''This has got to stop between you and your cousin you two have been fighting ever since you were little girls and I think that you guys should leave the past behind you and get over it''.

''Alright but if you see me screaming for my life then you had better call the police and run upstairs if you ever wanna see me again''.

Then she walked back to the living room and after a few seconds I walked back in too and asked my mom

''Where will she be sleeping''.
