About the Author
Andrea Bell-Myers has been teaching for nearly two decades. A native of Racine, she was educated in the public school sector, the University of Wisconsin system, and received her masters degree from Lesley University in Cambridge, Massachusetts. This diverse educational background in art and design, elementary education, special education, curriculum and instruction with a speciality in creative arts and learning has enabled Mrs. Bell-Myers to inspire and encourage others. She is the co-author of Kenosha: Harboring the Past, Present, and Future, 2004. She was also featured in Racine's Black owned community newspaper as one of 2006 Phenomenal Woman. In 2007, Positive Promotions magazine was impressed with her creativity in the classroom and published her idea. She even created an authentic-one of a kind- interdisciplinary tour. This Black American History and Underground Railroad tour is now entering its fifth successful year in 2008. It was the catalysis for this book. She has also received several honors and awards for her creativity. Her number one supporters and loves of her life are her husband and their two boys.
