But ultimately that dimension exists in all of us. Again, the concept of the messiah. Ultimately this dimension exists in all of us. And the true role of a spiritual teacher is to help us uncover that which keeps us from realizing who we truly are at the deepest level. So if you equate ego and consciousness or sin or fallen nature or ego identification with darkness, the messiah, the guru, the spiritual teacher is the person who shines the light of consciousness and awareness on that within us that obscures our divine nature. And helps us realize that we are not evil, that we are not sinful, that we are not guilty, that we are a product of thousands of years of conditioned egotistical thinking. That at the deepest level, we are pure conscious awareness. We are the light.
