About the Book
Many Christian parents and grandparents find it difficult to harmonize the Santa beloved by children everywhere to the Christ of Christmas. In delightful, fanciful poetry and fun illustrations, "Santa at the Manger" shows how the historical Saint Nicholas was the origin of Santa, and why there are many "Santas" today. It's sure to become a favorite of children, as well as a helpful resource for those who explain Santa to them.
About the Author
Having written poetry since childhood, many with Christian themes, Jo Pankratz penned this poem as a Christmas card insert in 2000. Encouraged by friends and brother-in-law Tom Burke to make it into a book, she invited "Red Hat" friend Dona Barbarie to do the illustrations. Both Jo and Dona have macular degeneration - an eye disorder, and live in San Diego.
