quaking earth.
The baptism was the
trials with water.
The communal antidote
was for the sickness in the blood.
The confirmed soldier
battled the heretic in the church.
And when the moon
eclipsed the sun,
From the star that was
the sign of my birth,
With a glorious golden
symphony,
I returned to earth in
a mighty procession.
In a column of white
light,
I stepped from my place
to your place…
and the watchers,
priests and scientists witnessed my arrival.
Again I breathed the
air of my creation.
Once more my eyes took
in earth’s light.
My body and blood was
once again together with my spirit.
And I remembered the
scars that men placed upon me.
The atheists believed!
The wickers dressed in
white!
The medicine men
emptied their jars!
The cults removed their
robes and washed their faces!
In the cities and towns, the repentant put down their
toils and distractions and walked into the countryside.
Husbands, wives and children walking hand in hand.
Friends and enemies;
Loving and hateful;
The right and the left;
High ones and low ones;
Enlightened ones and meek ones
Walked together in faith!"
