I was nearly four years old, Peter five and Philip three, when our parents travelled to Lagos, Nigeria.  My father, Stephen was nigerian and my mother, Dena, was british.  Because of my mixed heritage, I was called all sorts of names such as half-caste, mulatto, obronni, okagarra zezimbber, disappointed european, the unfortunate and so no.  If there was anything traumatic, disgusting, and unberable, it was the name calling which I and my brothers received from the villages. ................
