About the Book

Whereas Kcalb has had other single poems published in various books, this is his first full collection of poems to be published in a book all it's own. It is dedicated to a specific person and many of the poems seem to be to or about them.

About the Author

Born in the mountains of West Virginia, Kcalb Nogard grew up in a small home among the ponds and pine forests. He learned to be self sufficient at a very early age. By age 20 he had worked in a dozen different industries striving to learn how both the modern and natural worlds worked. Kcalb recalls, “The two things that taught me most about life were cutting firewood and rock climbing. If you fully grasp the concepts of having the life of something else and your own in your hands, everything else falls into place.”

Kcalb starting writing in his teens, but wrote less than a dozen poems before his parents separated and he stopped. It wasn’t until he was 24 that someone sparked passion in him again. He mostly wrote to try to express himself when it came to love, depression and the constant nightmares that have plagued him since he was an infant. His writings are an ongoing diary of his life and experiences. Referring to his writings Kcalb said, ”I think it is very typical of the younger generation. My only hope is that those older can understand us better and those younger see that they are not alone.”
