Saying goodbye to my 96yr old Great Granny was hard as she looked so old and frail sitting in her old battered arm chair. She gave the girls a hug and a kiss; I don't think they understood what was going on, which was good. "Bye" I said, almost unable to speak. I kissed her and then walked out of her home and I just couldn't look back.
The second of December came. As the departure time got closer and closer I remember it now, an over whelming feeling of pain and hurt. It was at my husbands Mum's house, buried deep within his Mum, she always supported our decision to migrate, but now she looked shocked and defeated. I don't think she could believe that we were actually going. At my Mum and Dads house, the atmosphere seemed so tense, like a time bomb waiting to explode with emotions and hurt feelings locked up tight My poor Mum looked so sad, I could sense her heart breaking, why was I doing this to her ?
"I love you so much, I will miss you everyday ." I said, as the tears were streaming down our blotched faces from crying too much. My Mum hugged me so tight and rocked me; I wished I was six years old again. The pain in my heart was crushing my breath, what was I doing?
