About the Author

Clark Elliott was born in 1931 in rural Kentucky and in his first book, “Reflections of My Heart” he writes about growing up in the country, his family and does so humorously. At age 13 the family moved to St. Louis where he met his beloved Louise; his first poems were written to her.

Elliott became a Christian at age 12 and was baptized in the Ohio River. He taught Sunday School for over 40 years.  Many of his poems reflect his walk with the Lord.

He  has no formal training in poetry but has loved poetry since childhood.  He is a member of the National Poetry Society, the Poetry Society of Oklahoma and Windmill Poets. He has won over 100 awards in many states and nationally.  In 2003, he was named Poet Laureate of the Poetry Society of Oklahoma.

Elliott has three children, David, Debbie and Mark.  He has four grandchildren, Chris, Ashley, Jenna and C.J. A lot of time has been spent traveling between South Dakota and Atlanta, Georgia visiting the grandchildren.

His entire career was in the Life Insurance Profession in some form of management.  He acquired the CLU degree and qualified for the Million Dollar Round Table.  He spent 32 years with Metropolitan Life which took him from St. Louis to New York, Tulsa and ultimately to Oklahoma City, where he took early retirement to spend 9 years with Mid-Continent Life as Vice President of Marketing.

As you read this book I think you will enjoy not only the wide variety of  poetry but will appreciate his great sense of humor.
