Suddenly a sinister cloud of darkness engulfed the cell. It appeared like a "Passing Shadow", like a dark wind blowing through a stand of tall trees. Jack Blaylock thought, "This shadow may be a portend of some impending calamity. Maybe his mind has become like a stricken rider slipping from the saddle. He could be slipping from reality!".......Jack momentarily gazed about, then swung the saddlebag over his shoulder and strolled away slowly in the direction Kilgore pointed. A colorful sunset filtered through a slight ground haze in the distant west. The glowing, sunset aurora brushed his right shoulder. The aurora emaninated from behind a mauve tinted horizon. It was peaceful, colorful and beautiful. .......At last he said, " Goodbye my Love. Keep me in your mind and heart. I'll return in a day or two." Hannah said, You know I will and I'll be thinking of you every hour and at night I'll be dreaming of you.".............

About the Book
A Texas cowboy in the year 1871 is in state prison. He encounters a strange 'Passing Shadow'. It brings questions about the condition of his mind. He is released from prison, works on the Bar-S cattle ranch in south Texas. He begans an intense search for the four outlaws who framed him. He meets and woos beautiful, blond Hannah, a German girl who has come from Frankfurt. He drives a large herd of cattle up the famous Chisholm trail to Abilene, Kansas. The drive encounters cattle stampedes, thunderstorms, shoot-outs, rustlers, hostile Indians and Kansas extortioners. He returns to Texas finds the four outlaws, clears his name and is married to Hannah. They finish their lives on the Bar-S ranch...
About the Author
Charlie Ingram is a true "West Texan." He was born in the town of Ranger, Eastland, County, Texas during a rip roaringTexas Oil Boom. His family moved to the central Texas town of Mexia during another Oil Boom. Charlie always held a love of the "Texas Mistic." He devoured the Saturday afternoon western movies with stars like Tom Mix and Ken Maynerd. He is an accomplished Native American portrait artist. He has branched out to writing in the western genre. He is currently writing his second novel set in the year 1875 around the town of Mexia, where he was raised.
