Why is this happening to me?” Maybe you have passed a smiling woman in the grocery store and began to wonder what was behind that same smile women share with one another. Has she ever had to walk the journey of breast or ovarian cancer? Has she been at the height of her career while hiding the secret of spousal abuse? Has she been molested, had to bury her mother, struggled with depression, battled weight issues, or struggled with the decision of having an abortion? We face our daily routines, focusing on the task at hand while our minds wander to our past and current situations and what the outcome will be. When we pass other women, we see their beautiful smiles, often a reflection of our own cordial gestures. Are those smiles real, or are they a forced version of a knowing smile trying to conceal the painful truth? Meet 30 extraordinary women who have walked many different journeys in life. These women are mothers, wives, sisters, pastors, students and professional women from all over the nation. They are everyday women of all ages and backgrounds who have made it through their journeys and SURVIVED! Some of their endings are not the happy endings we would like to see. In fact, some endings are simply beginnings of another chapter in their lives with unknown outcomes of limitless possibilities. Whatever your point of view, these are women just like you...SURVIVORS!

Adrienne Record is a passionate visionary committed and dedicated to serve as an advocate for the spiritual well-being of women. She is the founder and director of the Celebration of Womanhood organization in Sacramento, California. She is the catalyst behind the Celebration of Womanhood movement that has rallied women from all walks of life to share their common interest in dealing with the issues of life.
She grew up in San Bernardino, California where her strong spiritual foundation was established. Even at a young age, she was set aside as someone destined to do great things. Her magnetic personality and presence incite an environment of excitement wherever she goes.
She is a wife to Rick, a mother to Destiny and Desiree, a daughter to Richard and Gwen, a sister to Richard, a girlfriend to many and a gift to us all.
Celebration of Womanhood was birthed out of her experiences, pains, sorrows, set backs, trials and triumphs. This is not just a book, but an expression of love, inspiration and compassion. It is her testimony and the collaboration of ordinary women with extraordinary stories, serving as a reminder that life is worth celebrating.
As you read this book, pause to reflect on your own personal situations and how you were able to overcome them. For those still dealing with the issues of life, this book will serve as inspiration to help you through the storm.
