2% of world's population enjoys 50% of world's wealth. There are 85 crore people in the world who go to bed without a meal. This type of behaviour of mankind is unethical. The result of such mad rush for wealth at the cost of poor people will result in destruction of human race by the year 2050 by global warming or atomic catastrophe.
The world climate report published by U.N.O during April 2007 is an eye opener. We cannot neglect the report. It contains details which are detrimental to the health of this Earth and if we do not mend our methods of living, we will become responsible for the destruction of mankind by the year 2050.
The recent flooding unprecedented in history in the USA, China, the UK, India are clear signals of things to come. It is a calamity that when the world is burning, Russia wants to gain superiorty over Arctic, which is expected to contain 25% of world's oil reserves. The destruction of Ice cap over Arctic and subsequent removal of oil will further boost green house gases thereby speeding up global warming and eventually things will go out of control. Before that happens, it is the duty of everyone to open our eyes and fight for change of present selfish system.

About the Book
"Shall we save the Earth?' has two parts. The first part introduces the reader about Global warming and its primary cause - man's selfishness. The author believes that it is mere human greed that has thrown man in such a helpless situation. While the world leaders try and suppress any form of alarms, the simple fact is that if man continues with his actions unabated - his end is very near. In the second part of the book, the author proposes a new socio-economic model called the 'Society Without Selfishness' and reasons out with the reader as to why this is the only solution to avoid an apocalypse.
About the Author
Royston Fernandes is a part time global warming campaigner, dedicating his free time towards educating the people around his about the catastrophic effects of climate change. He believes that unless one understands the basic reason behind the causes of global warming - selfishness, one cannot introduce / implement any feasible solution aimed at countering the same. In his book ' Shall we save the Earth?', he proposes a new socio-economic model called the Society Without Selfishness and argues why it is the only means of avoiding a disastrous future! He is currently working on his second book, and is contemplating on starting an NGO to work towards educating the masses. The proceeds of his books would go towards funding his work.
