Like Unto An Intercessor

I have known the author since the early days of her adoption into the “household of God” as a Princess of His Kingdom. The marks of this redemption and elevation are a permanent, disarming smile from within of this widely beloved “Sister Lizzy,” who here shares one of her secrets—and it is definitely enriching. It is a revelation of the believer’s power through the risen Christ.

          Then, I came into closer relationship with Sister Lizzy as she blossomed in growth while undertaking the courses of the Church of the Living God School of Biblical Studies in Hyattsville, Maryland, U.S.A.

          Thereafter, she came to discern the voice of her peculiar calling as Intercessor, and committed herself to the pursuit of that which the Lord had assigned as her responsibility in the vineyard of an overdue harvest (1Corinthians 7:7; Ephesians 2:10). She obediently launched an intercessory prayer ministry, particularly to couples in marital distress, through which our God and Father has shown mighty signs and wonders and a supernatural anointing. Sister Lizzy and I have also remained prayer partners over the past few years in a weekly intercessory prayer group.

          I attest to the intimate sense of a truly fervent intercessor’s voice present in this book. Urgent, insistent, compassionate, and aggressive, it is a voice intent on melting the stony heart, as much as it is a cry to the Almighty God of heaven and earth about whom Joel declared that “.....He is gracious and merciful, Slow to anger, and of great kindness; And He relents from doing harm” (Joel 2:13).

          Another key aspect of this work is that it not only intercedes for the reader, but also affirms the right of all believers to a similar access to God. The author urges upon her audience in impartation of their own authority to come before God, in order to change the negative order around them.

          This book is virtually an intercessor’s manual, laying out the steps of effective intercessory action with regard to certitude, obedience (or submission), faith, bold action, steadfast perseverance, fervency, and total decisiveness. In these illustrated virtues as manifested in ordinary mortals “like unto ourselves,” the reader is astutely walked through the paces to mastery as a well-tutored supplicant. May readers find themselves drawn by the power of the Holy Spirit’s teaching here, into the same higher grounds of true worship and fruitful prayer as the Biblical characters portrayed here walked on.
