About the Book

I have stared death in the face one time too many, but God still provided a way for me to escape. I used to wonder why I never got hit by the bullets that were fired at me by enemies. I didn't realize how close I came to dying or taking someone else’s life. As a hustler and a gangster, I tried my best to take a life. I wanted to do whatever it took to earn my stripes but when the opportunity presented itself, I believe God stepped in. No matter how many shots I fired, no one ever got killed. I wanted to tell my story, in hopes of inspiring or shaping/changing the course of someone else's life.

I can guarantee that if I were to commit a big crime, the world would definitely know about it. It would make the 6:00 p.m. and the 10:00 p.m news, maybe even Dateline or 60 Minutes. With those possibilities, I felt it was necessary that the world knew that I was given another chance at life.

About the Author

The Biography of

Ronald K. Cook

Ronald Cook, a native of Denver, Colorado, grew up in the streets of Oak Cliff, the inner city of Dallas, Texas. The only son of Cynthia Cook, Ron, has two sisters, Tiiti Cook, and Sparkle Cook. Ron spent most of his life in the streets as: a hustler, a gang banger and a straight up thug. A life that mirrored those who raised him, Ron, from the age of eleven, knew no other way. This Manchild later made the acquaintance of someone who would set in motion his transformation in to a better man and person.

The sole provider for three children; Mes’Meriah, Mer’Cedes, and KC, Ron now works for a prestigious law firm Banowsky & Levine PC, and is the proprietor of a painting company. In addition, Ron is currently a prominent member of the church of Christ at Mountain View in Dallas Texas. Having battled self doubt and self pity first hand, Ron now wants to share his living testimony with everyone that has been told, in one form or another, that they would not live to see the age of 30. Ron has never moved from Oak Cliff and hopes that his example and writings will propitiate change in the world community that surrounds us. Ronald Cook has poured his heart and soul into this first of many books and would like to extend his appreciation to all that read his work.
