Would I look you in the eye,

While I try to stifle the heat?

Wouldn't it show?

Would my body not tremble?

Wouldn't I have a certain glow?

Or would I just avoid you,

And contradict your every word?

When you said anything sweet,

Would I pretend I hadn't heard?

If I loved you,

Wouldn't you know?

Despite my attitude,

Shouldn't you though?

At my blunt denials,

Wouldn't you smile?

And tell me although I was cruel,

It was all worth your while.
