This night, as was my day, is the same, I’m embroiled in yet another ludicrous argument. This time, at the door of a wonderful restaurant I had heard about, arguing with the Matre’d'!

"Oh, I-I am so-o sorry! I didn't realize anyone was so close to me.” I said apologetically.
"Nothing was harmed.” He said with a European accent. "May I be of service?” He asked.
"Not unless you can get me air transport back to this town!” I smirked.

About the Book
She is a 'Pollyannic Cynic. These terms are such contradictions but best describes the complicated life of this woman. She is a Pollyanna because she believes the best in each of us. She trusts with her whole heart and tends to give the shirt off her back if need be.
All of her adult life, she supported the needs of family, husband - even after divorce; friends and foes. And all her life she has ended up on the bottom rung of MESS (Miserable, Evil, Sinister, Stuff). You get my drift.
She's a cynic because of her pessimistic views about self and what she considers her failures. She is in complete agreement with those who reprove her ideals; belittle her success; and literally take her esteem away. She takes all their criticism to heart, blaming self and believing their mind-set is true.
She loses what little sanity that remained in her life to those claimed of love. Her husband hurt her in the name of love. The law called it assault with intent. Her best friend assaulted her but believed it was love. She and only a few close associates know the truth. And when the truth is revealed, it flared up in a most unexpected manner. Again she blamed herself for the outcome. You can only hope every thing turns out to her advantage - but - you never know.
About the Author
I have worked in the nonprofit sector for over 30 years but always had a fascination with the written word. My job, principally in planning and fund raising, required technical writing skills - targeting community needs and helping individuals understand that giving back to support community is always the right thing to do.
I have two children and two very special grandchildren. I have always loved reading 'trashy novels' but rarely found good ones that didn't frequently use foul language, specifically the 'F' word, so I decided to see if I could write one myself. Believe me, this is a trashy novel! The first of a two book series with the second, The Prequel, revealing how the protagonist survived an abusive childhood.
