Twas The Night Before Dawn

                              “The Last Time”

As the last memories of past friends fade into my imagination,

I wonder if my life is worth living.

I failed among myself and others,

And I fell into the dark well of abomination.

At night when I dream,

The people in my fantasies recognize me as their hero.

This place that dwells in my mind is my only solace,

A solace in which I find a life worth living.

When I awake life is but a cruel joke,

Mocking my existence on this terrestrial plane.

This terrestrial plane in which imagination is locked away,

And ultimately imprisoned.

The people here don’t recognize my existence,

And they only remember me as a strange case of Déjà vu.

For what is life worth living to the lonely?

Pain abounds daily,

As if an anti-fantasy turns into a cruel reality.

For tonight before I close my eyes,

Let me live in my dreams.

Let me live the life that I was destined to live.

For don’t cry if I never return,

For you know where to find me.

I will be in the place where the sun never fades,

And dreams can never be destroyed.

Goodbye my destiny and God bless the stars,

For I will see you again when I close my eyes.
