Jeffrey I. Hiller was born in Chicago in 1951, He grew up in Skokie, Illinois, and graduated from Niles North High School in 1969. He attended Triton College, and earned his B.A. in English from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Illinois. In 1982,he married the love of his life, Marie Heraver. Jeff met Marie while working at Kiley Center in Waukegan, Illinois. It was love at first sight for Jeff. Marie was always pretty, but according to Jeff, Marie grows more beautiful with each passing day. Jeff worked as a leader in the Social Services field for over 25 years. He loves helping others. He was a Child Protective Investigator for the State of Illinois from 1986-1988. Those years were the two most intense heartbreaking years of Jeff's life. Jeff is a student of The Holocaust. He is an accomplished poet, and has written many poems about The Holocaust. Jeff tries to imagine what life was like in a Nazi Death Camp, and he writes haunting poems from a victim's point of view. In 1993, Jeff and Marie moved from Arlington Heights, Illinois to Loveland, Colorado. He lives happily near the majestic rocky mountains with Marie, and their dog Carly. Jeff has worked as a Volunteer Coordinator for Volunteers of America from 2000-2007. He is currently writing a children's book.
