There was one left. She slowly walked on her deformed feet towards him. He was terrified. So frighten, he couldn’t move an inch. “Please, please.” She lifted him into the air with one hand by his neck and bit a hole in it so large his head nearly fell off. She continued to feed off the men to her delight. When she was through enjoying the taste of blood between her lips, she turned and looked at the crime scene. This is when it happened. This is when she remembered what happened to her. Shaking with fear and shame, she gasped at the blood on her hands. She scouted the view and then gawked into the midnight sky. “WHY?!” she yelled. “WHY HAVE YOU FO’SAKEN ME GOD! HELP ME! Help me! Help me.” As her cries went to a shallow sound, she ran to the river which was nearby.
There she washed the blood away, stayed on her knees and put her hands in a praying manner. “God, please fo’give me.” With that prayer, came great pain. Her body began to burn with fever and smoke began to rise from her skin as if she was baking. Yelling in pain, she continued to beg for forgiveness until some of her skin peeled off her face. Finally, she stopped torturing herself and glanced for a reflection in the water. There was none. “I’s gotta leave this place. I’s can’t stay no mo’.” With that, she got up and started heading north through the back woods. She knew she would be safe because she had such powerful strength.

About the Book
Sophie was always known as a faithful follower of the Lord. Her beauty was known throughout the south as well. Although she was a slave, her faith in God was stronger than any being on earth. But in one night, her world was turned upside down when she was viciously attacked by a vampire. She soon finds out that her new master is Satan and Godly things are deadly to her. Nevertheless, she strides to stay in God’s flock by praying and torturing herself for many years. However, God sees her faith and sends her protection and a gift. With this knoweledge, Lucifer realizes that Sophie must be special and can be used to his advantage. With Lucifer’s army hunting Sophie and werewolves protecting her, a war is about to happen. Can Sophie escape the wrath of Satan? Will she find the power in the gift God has given her before it’s too late? Only God knows.
About the Author
Africa Washington was born and raised in Chicago, IL. She is a single mother of four beautiful children and a grandmother of two. Growing up as an atheist, she found God later in life. Her friends had often described her as funny, out-going but mostly creative in story telling. She’s well known for expressing life experiences through parables. With her love for fantasy creatures, she was inspired to write this book to show her strong belief in a higher being.
