Can You Hear My Cry? My Soul Is Calling For You

 Never in my life could I have imaged anything that would break my heart. I remember a time when I was just a little girl at the age of five. I remember it like it was yesterday. Living in a small off white colored house just big enough for three people to have a place called home. Life was hard on us in Mississippi. My mother and father were getting a divorce. My mother was a tall slender woman with wide hips. She had charcoal black short hair, brown eyes and firm small lips. She was more of a handsome figure than a beautiful woman. My mother worked as a waitress in a groovy night club. But oh my father was a gorgeous man. He was a little bit over six feet tall, soft black hair, strong built body, and beautiful brown eyes. He was the best jazz musician in the world. The way he played the saxophone just makes you wanna dance. My father loved me so much. He called me his angel. Things were rough between my parents. There was a big secret my mother kept from him. Some how he found out about it, but he wouldn’t tell me what it was. My father wanted to take me away, but was afraid that he would not be able to take care of me. Then I asked my father “Why are you leaving me behind? Please take me with you.” My father told me one day in private that he was going to make a better life for me, but I must stay with my mother until he gets back on his feet. My father hurt his hand and couldn’t play the saxophone any more. He said “Baby girl, you are my life. I love you very much, but your mother is up to no good. She doesn’t know how to be a good mother. I really don’t want to leave you here with her, but it is for your own good. Don’t worry my child. We will be together again, but until then we will be apart.
