About the Author

Angèle Kadima-Nzuji Kabwasa has a Master degree in Communication Sociale from the Université Catholique de Louvain-la-Neuve in Belgium. She graduated with a bachelor degree in Cultural Anthropology from the Université Nationale du Congo. After having traveled in several countries with her husband, a United Nations Diplomat, she settled with him in his home town of Kikwit, Democratic Republic of Congo, in 1992. There she helped women set up various income-generating projects. In 1994, she and her husband created a community elementary school called Cours Soleil. Besides teaching the official curriculum, the school introduced African culture through regular story-telling sessions.

Angèle Kabwasa now lives with her family in Toledo, Ohio, and acts as a cultural consultant, a French teacher, and a writer. She has three Children, and eight grandchildren. It is to them and to all the children in the world that she dedicates this collection of folk tales from the D. R. Congo.
