About the Book

This book, “The Long and The Short of Life” is a literary composite sketch of my life from the early days of growing up in the Queensbridge projects of New York, then going into the military (U.S Air Force). I subsequently answered the call of God to the gospel ministry. I did not really plan my career however, through divine planning it all worked out.

In this book I attempt to not just share my unique experiences to some degree, but to  metaphorically demonstrate how life can be more than just something that just passively happens and to show the importance of making things happen without the need to ask,  what happened? My travels throughout the United States and many parts of the  world has left me with a greater appreciation for the challenges of life, geography and  God’s wonderful creation.

I trust that all who read this book will feel a sense of connection with my experiences and be able to understand as I do, just how important it is for me to share over five decades of my life with my readers. In short, this book in fact is a journey of my life, piloted by the Holy Spirit. Thank you for allowing me to unveil  myself to you in this book, as you read; The Long and The Short of Life.

About the Author

E.L.Woolard is well traveled. He is a retired member of the United States Air Force and preacher of the Gospel. He has served our country and people as well. His formal education qualifies him in management, effective leadership, psychology, effective counseling, world history, English, world affairs, effective writing and other subject areas. Even while traveling and raising a family, He matriculated through college via correspondence courses in biblical studies and more.

While spending time in Greece, he became very skilled at communicating in the local Greek language as well as Biblical Greek, thus giving him added insight into Biblical languages and interpretation. His time spent in Japan and other countries led him to appreciate cultures and lifestyles from a world perspective, and an understanding of what experiences men have in common, yet an appreciation of the diversities, that makes us who we are.

E.L. Woolard is an ordinary man who is blessed to have had an extra-ordinary awareness of his purpose and showing every ordinary man why he is not just an ordinary man. The book will show how he paid his dues, rendering him qualified to make a statement to every person about themselves.

He is a husband, a father, a grandfather, a pastor, a preacher, an entrepreneur, a musician, a singer, a business owner, a world traveler, a student of the Bible, a student of business, a people person and a down-to-earth person. He is someone that anybody can approach and talk to. As you read his story, you will "read" yours, as well.
