To Teacher, with Love

I’m writing this book to share many of the special letters and notes I’ve received during my 30 years as an elementary teacher, feeling they were too positive not to share with others! So many negative comments are made about education and teachers, I wanted to off set these with the “rays of sunshine” that have come to me during my time in the classroom surrounded by loving and adoring children! I am a firm believer in the value of written correspondence, a vanishing breed in our modern day society. Cell phones and e-mail have replaced the traditional letter but the fact remains most people eagerly await the arrival of the mailman hoping to find a personal note instead of junk mail! As a teacher I believed I should practice what I preach so our class did a lot of letter writing and the children were thrilled when we received a response. We were very fortunate to hear from presidents, famous authors, and influential entrepreneurs. I’ve been very grateful that so many people have taken the time to respond to a second grade teacher in Medina, Ohio! Therefore the book, “To Teacher With Love,” was conceived.
